"Take Your Son to Rehab Before It's Too Late" - Bobi Wine Tells Museveni After General Muhoozi's Reckless Remarks

Uganda’s opposition leader, Robert Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine, has strongly criticized Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the son of President Yoweri Museveni, for making dangerous comments about the government and freedom of speech in Uganda.

Muhoozi, who also leads the Ugandan military, recently said that the police should stop any public meetings where people insult the First Family or government officials.

Speaking from his home in Magere, Wakiso District, Bobi Wine responded harshly to Muhoozi’s statement, calling it “reckless and immoral.”

He said such words from a government official are dangerous and illegal.

“In a functional country, such a person would have been immediately dismissed, forced to resign, or even court-martialed, as his statement is clearly illegal,” Bobi Wine stated.

He went on to express his concern about the lack of consequences for Muhoozi’s actions, which he sees as an example of Uganda’s poor justice system.

Bobi Wine also took aim at both President Museveni and his son, criticizing them for acting as if they are above the law.

“Museveni behaves as though he is the law, and his son acts as though he is above it,” Bobi Wine said.

“Both seem to believe the law is subordinate to them. That is why Muhoozi can make such inflammatory remarks and face no consequences.”

According to Bobi Wine, Uganda’s justice system is failing to hold those in power accountable for their actions.

He pointed out that if Uganda had a functioning rule of law, anyone who breaks the law, no matter their status, would be punished.

He explained, “If Uganda had a functioning justice system or true rule of law, anyone who commits a crime—regardless of their status—would be held accountable.”

Bobi Wine also questioned Muhoozi’s leadership abilities, especially in the military. He believes that for a high-ranking military officer to make careless and illegal statements is a sign of poor judgment and weak leadership.

“For the son of Gen Museveni, who also heads the military, to make careless and illegal orders like this, only underscores the extent of our nation’s dysfunction,” Bobi Wine said. “It reflects not just a failed state but a rotten state.”
Bobi Wine’s remarks reflect growing frustration over the political and legal situation in Uganda.

Many people feel that the ruling family is too powerful and that there is no accountability for their actions.

Bobi Wine has long been a vocal critic of President Museveni, and this latest statement adds to his ongoing efforts to challenge the government’s policies.

In his final words, Bobi Wine made a bold and direct call to President Museveni, urging him to take action and help his son.

“Take your son to rehab as soon as possible!” Bobi Wine concluded, suggesting that Muhoozi’s behavior needed immediate attention.
